Nokia Mystery Ready to be Revealed – “Open at Your Own Risk”

Talk about viral sites! Nokia has done it again, by making us feel like Once you get through the ‘security’ you will see some nicely done clockwork imagery, hear creepy music and read some rambling tosh about a bunch of royal types creating a clip of ‘grande weirdnessLara Croft and Indy while we’re exploring the mystery of a … video.OpenAtYourOwnRisk.com is their latest viral site, that greets you a pretty easy to solve puzzle and reveals the details of the “game”.

They talk of some royalties creating a clip “of grande weirdness” hundreds of years ago. Also the site mentions that this clip was hidden inside a box and that it’s protected by 4 seals. Of course we get clues, but they’re hidden in artefacts like Edison’s lightbulb, Apollo 11 and the Nokia Download Store.

The enigma will be cleared on Monday, July 7, but I bet that everyone will be celebrating the 4th of July and won’t have time to trouble their heads with such riddles. I smell a Nokia Tube launch… Do you?

Nokia is up to something.

Take a look at OpenAtYourOwnRisk.com(flash required). It’s a willfully obscure viral site that you have to open by aligning some symbols in a combination lock (don’t worry, it’s not hard).

Once you get through the ‘security’ you will see some nicely done clockwork imagery, hear creepy music and read some rambling tosh about a bunch of royal types creating a clip of ‘grande weirdness’ (hundreds of years ago, before the invention of, er, movie clips) that they have placed in a box with four seals.

Clues to help you unlock the box have been hidden in important historical artifacts like Edison’s Lightbulb, Apollo Eleven and, er, the Nokia Download Store.

All will be revealed next Monday and you can sign up for an email alert to notify you as soon as the seals are cracked open.

What could it be? The Nokia Tube, perhaps? Doesn’t seem ‘grande weird’ enough, though – unless we have been WAY wrong about what the Tube will involve. Suggestions in the comments, if you please.

We’re familiar with the Provoke Design name, since we last saw their brilliant interface showing us the true power of touchscreen displays. Now we’ve spotted a prototype image of theirs showing a pretty neat touchscreen device. Provoke is known to work closely with Nokia, so with a bit of speculation this phone might turn out to be the Nokia Tube.

Pass me that huge grain of salt, will you?
